Resonant Inspection for Integration In-Line
Resonant inspection is a non-destructive testing technique helping to deliver 100% quality-inspected parts quickly and economically. How does resonant inspection work? Each part has a unique resonant signature that reflects its composition. Any deviation from this signature represents a structural variation. Non-Destructive Testing Resonant Acoustic Method (NDT-RAM) uses this principle to objectively discern between small differences in complex parts.
NDT-SEMI can be tailored to match your specific quality inspection needs. The NDT-SEMI system is designed to fit into an existing production line and is flexible enough to test a wide variety of parts. An industrial impactor “pings” (taps) each part with a measured and repeatable force, producing sound. A microphone then transforms the sound into an electrical signal sending it to a digital controller to determine frequency characteristics. NDT-RAM software compares those characteristics to criteria limits and accepts or rejects the part. The system interfaces with programmable logic controllers for easy integration into an existing production line.

NDT-RAM provides screening for cracks, chips, holes, out-of-tolerance dimensions, variations in hardness, residual stress, bonding failures and heat-treating processes.
