The Modal Shop invites you to join us for a new Modal Testing webinar series. We’re bringing in modal testing expert, Dr. Pete Avitabile, to share decades of testing experience in an easy-to-access format. Each session will last approximately 90 minutes with time for questions and answers. Webinars are hosted from May 5 through June 9, at 1:00 PM EDT.

    Test set up issues can have a significant effect on measured FRFs. Effects of the actual boundary condition for the test article can make a difference in the measured FRFs with issues related to frequency and damping for instance.

    Accelerometer mass loading can have an effect on measured FRFs, especially when there is a stationary hammer hit and the accelerometers are roving on the structure to acquire all the measurements. The mass loading effect is shown with some variations to understand the effect – which is especially significant for modal parameter estimation.
