THE MODAL SHOP, INC., a PCB Group Co., introduces additional capabilities to the workhorse Model 9155C Accelerometer Calibration Workstation. Shunt calibration, air-bearing shaker integration, expanded frequency range to 20 kHz, and sensor linearity have been added to expand the usefulness of the automated calibration system.
These new capabilities build on The Modal Shop’s line of precision calibration products by performing transfer calibrations on both ICP® (IEPE) and charge mode accelerometers, providing both sensitivity and phase data. Calibrations are performed using the 'back-to-back' method according to ISO 16063-21. Customizable data reports are generated within Microsoft Access that conform to the requirements of ISO 17025 for calibration certificates. The system also self-documents measurement uncertainty according to ISO 16063-21.
Model 9155C automates the calibration task with an easy to learn software interface that controls vibration levels and calculates results over a frequency range of 2 Hz to 20 kHz (while using the new Model 394A31 Air Bearing Shaker.) The FFT based data acquisition system calculates both amplitude and phase response, and test cycle times can be reduced to less than 30 seconds using the broadband excitation feature. Data is archived in an internal ODBC database or exported for MET/TRACK use.
