The shaker effectively eliminates transverse motion and adjusts easily to calibrate accelerometers in a wide range of sizes through its uniquely designed air suspension system making calibrating your inventory of accelerometers more accurate and efficient.
The Model 394A30 air bearing shaker is manufactured at PCB Piezotronics’ state-of-the-art facility in Depew, NY. The shaker’s primary purpose is for use in accelerometer calibration systems such as The Modal Shop’s 9155C Accelerometer Calibration Workstation. The shaker design allows for easy adjustment for a variety of accelerometer sizes and is especially designed to handle rugged, day-to-day production use.
Traditional electromechanical shakers have the physical limitation of introducing transverse movement into the measurement due to their dependence on a mechanical spring armature. The 394A30 air bearing shaker essentially eliminates this transverse movement due to its superior air suspension system. The entire suspension system rides on a cushion of air with virtually zero side to side motion. Additionally, the 394A30 air bearing shaker allows faster calibration cycle times versus other air bearing shakers due the Lorentz force suspension of the armature. It’s easy adjustment capability coupled with glitch free operation throughout the usable frequency range means more efficient and accurate calibrations.
